Up for sale is a charming, antique turn-of-the-century edition of Tom Brown at Oxford by Thomas Hughes. Published by the H.M. Caldwell Company (active late 1890s through the early 1900s), this hardcover volume is the classic Victorian coming-of-age sequel to Tom Brown's School Days, following the protagonist's rowdy and triumphant experiences at the prestigious University of Oxford.
The book is in nice to very good vintage condition. The binding remains structurally sound, the text block is secure, and the pages are clean with light, natural toning appropriate for a book over 120 years old. The decorative cloth cover displays beautiful period shelf appeal with only mild corner and spine end rubbing. A beautiful addition to a vintage library, a gift for an Oxford alumnus, or a lovely piece of Victorian decor.
